A Soccer Game and a Wedding Reception

We woke up in Orem after the girls had a cousin sleepover.

Tyson stuck around in Orem to help his brother move and give him a bachelor party of sushi and shooting.  The girls and I left early to go see Hideki play soccer for the championship.

He took second place, but it was an amazing game.
Hideki is an amazing goalie.

We celebrated at Iceberg.

Later we went to a small, family reception for Paul (my step-nephew) and Kristy.  They had a chicken dinner and a s'mores bar.  We had a really good time just getting to know people and chatting.

That was #2 for wedding receptions.  One more to go.

More Swimming and the Beginning of Wedding Madness

Tyson was off interviewing at the U of U today.

While he was gone we went to Hideki's soccer game and then swimming at Sayuri's.

We stayed at their house after for lunch and a movie. It was lots of fun.

We then met up with Tyson back at my parents' house to pack for sleeping at the Finlinson's house.

We were able to catch Kelly, Paul, and Kristie as thy came into town from CA and say a "hello" before heading out.

We then went to Tyson's cousin's wedding reception.

 This is the beginning of the wedding festivities. Today is Wendy and Chris' reception, tomorrow Paul and Kristie's reception, then Wednesday is Hayden and Hunter's reception. Then we needed to throw in Eden's baptism on Sunday just to make sure we have enough events going on.

It was also a good moment because Lydia just flew in from her Europe trip and all of Tyson's siblings were together. It had been a while since that has happened.

INow the girls are all having a cousin sleepover in the basement of the Finlinsons.

Errands and Swimming

Ran errands.

Swimming at Uncle Mark's.

Is that really all we did today?

Yep. Might be it.

But we had a good and productive day.

Little things that made me smile today:

- Eden came to ME to get her school done without complaint.

- Leila discovered puting up kids soccer goals and using them as hurdles.

- Tyson mocked me for clothes shopping so much, then we made a return at Uptown Cheapskate and he ended up buying 2 shirts, 1 pair of shorts, and a tie.

- I forgot underwear after swimming and to see Eden's face putting on her silk PJ pants without undies and saying "this is so weird feeling..."

- To see how excited Molly was to go without underwear.

I Have a Husband Again

Tyson was able to come to Utah.

I have a husband again.

While he's been gone, I seemed to have formed a clothes shopping addiction.

I went this morning again before I picked him up from the airport.

After I picked him up, we met with some old friends from Kansas City, the Popes, who were out.

We went out to Brick Oven for lunch.

We had a blast and so did the girls, playing with Bella like old times.

And they made quite good friends with the waitress as well.

Since we met up with our friends in Provo, we stopped to visit with Tyson's family.

After some casual hanging out, we headed back to my parents' house.

We came in time to get ready and go to the ward swimming party.

Tyson and the kids took the car to the pool.

I ran (three miles) and met them there.

We had a blast at the pool.

Lots of food.

Slide, diving board, and high dive.

Now we are officially exhausted.

(Tyson may have taken one or two photo and I will probably come back and upload them tomorrow... but for now, this is a pictureless post.)

Not So Eventful

That's about all I have to say about today.

Not so eventful.

No pictures.

It was eventful for Tyson. He got an offer for fellowship at MD Anderson in Houston. It isn't his number one and they wanted an answer by Thursday. He asked for an extension, and they are giving him until Monday.  Tyson called Mayo Clinic (in Arizona) which is his number one, and told them he had an offer and wanted to know his standing with them. They said they would give him an answer by Monday as well.  And he still has his interview with the U of U on Friday. Guess we'll see what happens.

As for my not so eventful day....

We woke up and the cousins had places to go.

Nana had to work on sewing bow ties for the wedding.

Paige fell asleep.

The girls watched a movie.

Once Paige woke up, we headed up North.

Probably the most eventful part of my day was stopping at the car wash (my kids always loved going through) and then doing a really good vacuum and cleaning of my van that had been trashed from the trip over.

Ahh...to have a clean car....bliss.

We got back in time for dinner with my parents, the Watsons, and the Greens.

Picked plums at a neighbors.

Then the cousins left early.

So, I went to Target.

Thank goodness my mom was there...Paige was NOT a happy camper.

My mom was on Paige duty while I got my basic shopping done.

The next most eventful thing of today was after we got home and put Paige to bed, I went for a run.

I hadn't been running for quite some time and I needed to start,

It was a short run, 1 1/2 miles.

Then I tried to put the other girls to bed,

I think I permanently messed up their sleep schedules and think bedtime is 11 pm....cause they had a hard time going to bed. They kept waking up over and over again,

But they finally went to sleep. Now I can go to sleep.

Eliza's and Nate's Birthday

This morning we headed to Orem to celebrate cousin Eliza's 3rd birthday.

Breakfast crepes.

Play time.

Playing at the creek up Provo Canyon.

Spread fairy dust birthday wishes (glitter).

Watch a late night movie.

In the middle, I left the party to meet my family for dinner at Texas Roadhouse to celebrate Nate's birthday.

It was really nice and relaxing to have an adult-only dinner where we just talk and laugh with one another. Happy birthday Nate (though it's actually tomorrow).

Tyson's been out interviewing for fellowship. He just interviewed at Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona. He likes this one a lot. Fingers crossed.

Two of my kids fell asleep before 8:00.
