Costco with Kimmarie

Today me and the girls took our friend, Kimmarie, to a doctor appointment.
Then she decided to come with us on a Costco run for fun.
We ate a little lunch, sample, and shopped.

I really enjoyed Kimmarie's company.
Kimmarie is my good friend that I met through visiting teaching.
She is older than I am and has different health problems that makes her unable to drive.
...thus the ride to her doctor appointment today.
She is full of spunk and always has a lot to talk about.
We are really different but we both love each other.

Anyhow, Costco ended up taking most of the day.
I came home with groceries, diapers, and toilet paper.
Kimmarie came home with a Samsung Galaxy.

It definitely wore the girls out.

All three fell asleep on the drive home.
We got home a little before the bus came to drop off Eden.

We then had some play time.
Homework time.
Dinner time.
Clean up time.
Story time.
Scripture time.
And now bedtime.

Falling Asleep Curled Up Under the Bed Kind of Day

Ok. It really wasn't that bad of a day.
It just seemed so fitting with this picture.

I'm not exactly sure how I'm going to get her out from under her bed and go right back to sleep though.

Today was pretty good.

We did a school project with snowflakes, poems, reading, and a freezing cold walk/bike ride for PE.

Then we had a major downhill moment when Eden decided she doesn't need to help clean the house with the family.

Then the saddest moment when Leila's hopes and dreams were shattered by the weatherman who said this morning that there were chances of snow tomorrow and then changing their minds to say there will be no snow. She was crying because she wants snow so badly.

But overall, it was a good day.

Sick Day

Tyson took a sick day from work.
Paige didn't mind when nap time was with daddy in his bed.

Things were pretty good today.
School.
Chores.
Nothing new.

Eden still loves public school.
I think it is better for everyone.
Eden gets time to be with kids her age.
The other kids get more mom time.
It is working out well.

Not Much...

I don't feel like there is much to say today.
I substituted for Lelia's primary class.
Dad stayed home with Eden and Paige who is still semi-sick.
I found out that our crawdad fishes for live fish to eat in our tank (I'm slightly mortified).

In general, I feel like I am in a little bit of a funk.
I could use a little boost in my life.
Need a little motivation.

Tomorrow is another day.

Baptism of an Old Friend

We went to Ryan Thorne's baptism today.
We don't see the Thornes enough since they moved to Liberty.
It was nice to see them again, even if it was just for a moment.
It was also nice to see the baptism.
The spirits of children are amazing.

After that, we went out shopping for a few last Christmas gifts.
Did a lot of book reading (Dad is now on to book two of Harry Potter).
And more book reading (Molly is doing a program to read 1000 books before kindergarten).

We are now getting kids to bed.
Then Tyson has a guy's night over here to play games.
And I get a girl's night with Autumn.
So excited to relax.

Molly's Doctor Appointment

Molly had her yearly doctor appointment.
Same stats as always. Small.
She is consistently at the .1 percentile for height and weight.
But she is consistent, which is what matters.

Nothing else much happened today.
My best friend from high school, Rachel, gave me a call out of the blue to say hi.
It is nice to have friends.

I also had to do some night grocery shopping after the kids went to bed.
I usually don't like doing it at night, but it wasn't so bad tonight.

My one regret was not helping the guys in front of me.

There were two guys in the checkout in front of me.
They definitely didn't look rich by any means.
And based on what was in their cart, they had just moved in somewhere.
Basics, measuring cups and spoons, a knife, cutting board, a few basic food items.
They separated their cart into two transactions.
One guy paid half, the other paid half.
The first went through fine, the second's card was denied.
He looked embarrassed.
The first guy came to scrounge his wallet to cover for the first guy.
They barely found the money to get through.

I watched and almost pulled out my card and just stuck it in to pay for their groceries.
But I didn't.

I guess I felt a little weird pushing them aside to put my card in ther slot.
I keep telling use of, "if I had enough cash, I would have just given it to the cashier."
And I hope I would have had the guts to do it.

I wish I wasn't scared to help.
