A lot more luxury in this hotel.
Beds.
Individual bedrooms.
Heated toilet seats.
...the high life.
Ishinomaki is known for their anime.
(I believe a well known anime artist lived here.)
All throughout town are statues of anime figures.
On the train we passed tons of shells to harvest oysters.
We traveled a little way out to Matsushima with some friends my parents knew from mission days, the Abes. We got to see a kokeshi maker, little islands off of the mainland, see beautiful gardens and caves, go on a little hike, and eat delicious food.
(And don't forget to use the "squatty potty" along the way.)
The break up bridge. Supposedly if a couple crosses this bridge together, they are bound to break up.
