I had a really good mother's day.
Besides having to speak in sacrament meeting and having it be extremely rushed because I only had five minute to give a ten minute talk. Could be worse. I actually enjoyed the topic (the role of women during the Savior's lifetime), so it wasn't so bad. But I do get really nervous up there. I'm pretty sure I talked a mile a minute.
My kids made me cards, sang in sacrament, and helped set up the dinner table.
I love my girls.
Eden is smart, helpful, and always wants me to be happy.
Leila is caring, adventurous, and thoughtful.
Molly is silly, determined, and playful.
Paige is a joker, explorer, and incredibly cute.
My husband let me sleep in, made breakfast, watched the kids during my talk, cleaned up the house, bought me a Fitbit, made me a fantastic dinner of tri-tip, mashed potatoes, and veggies, and also made me dessert of creme brulee with blueberries.
He's pretty much amazing. Actually, I probably should put that in all capital letters to truly show you how amazing he is. AMAZING.
Here's a picture me, my mom, grandma, and Molly (after my parents returned from their mission). I am so blessed to have both of them in my life.
My mother has especially been a great example and friend to me.
I think of my mom and I think of service. Going with her to the care center while she was the Relief Society President there, making quilts in the basement to give to others, coming up with ways to make the holiday season less about getting and more about giving.
And also when I think of my mom and I think of friendship. Having long talks with me about boys, consoling me when I was worried I was going to "fail" all my classes in school, watching Food Network late at night when the kids fell asleep.
Mom, I love you. Happy Mother's Day.
