The first half of the day was full of fun.
The last half....not so much.
It started with cooking class (which the kids LOVE). They made fruit and yogurt roll ups and cheese and pretzel samplers.
Usually they have swim lessons right after, but the weather was stormy, so swim was cancelled.
We headed to the YMCA instead. I am signing back up for the Y and have a friend who is going to keep me accountable for making sure I exercise.
I took a Zumba class and then walked and jogged around the track for a half hour. (I am doing a program called Couch to 5K which was recommended to me by my friend, Rachel, so I can work my way up to doing a 5K, which I am signed up to do in September.)
While walking around the track, I got to watch the girls in the gym (down below the track) playing Duck, Duck, Goose and other games.
The girls were sad they didn't get to go swimming. So, after I picked them up from Child Watch, I took them to the pool at the YMCA. I was also watching the girl's friend, Bella, as well.
Then we took a quick run to the bank, then to Costco for lunch and some groceries.
We took our time at Costco because I was starting to lose energy. We got a couple hot dogs and drinks to start. Luckily, it wasn't a busy day at Costco, so the workers kept telling us to feel free to take as many samples as we wanted....including sampling, several times, all the different flavors of some natural juice drink.
Traffic was quite heavy on our way home.
We dropped off Bella.
I told the girls that they needed to do chores that were left undone this morning (since we hadn't been home since 9 AM and it was now 5 PM). There was a hiccup in the chores and a misread on who was assigned what chore and children doing chores that weren't theirs...blah blah blah. This caused a major riot.
Tyson got home and everyone was screaming and crying.
Me, who was also quite exhausted and ill equipped to handle the situation, hid and Tyson dealt with it. Wonderful husband award.
I think we were all worn out by doing so much today.
...Not to mention that Molly wet her pants THREE times today. THREE!!?? Yes, three. Guess that's what happens when you drink millions of gallons of juice at Costco.
There was a lot of crying this evening. Even a point today when Eden was crying and saying, "What would make someone want to cry even when they don't have any reason to cry?" Followed by my explanation of the sensitivity levels of being tired, stressed, and simply being a girl.
I think we did a little too much today.
But we did still have a relatively enjoyable day...at least the first half.
