Library Summer Reading Program
Our library has a summer reading program that they do every year.
For older kids, for every 360 minutes a child reads, they get a free book from the library. For younger kids, every 24 books they listen to they get a free book. You can earn up to three books per child and the fourth they get a free t-shirt and their name is entered into a drawing.
My kids love this program, and its really boosted the reading that is going on around this house.
Eden and Leila have each won a book, and Molly and Paige have won two books.
It has been fun. I never knew that Paige was really into books until now because I just didn't try reading to her very much. Now she brings me book after book after book (her favorites being the Color Board Book, Are You a Cow?, Peek-a-Boo Elmo).
I knew that Molly loves books. I didn't always set time aside to read to her much, except at night when we read one or two books of her choice with her before bed.
Eden and Leila have been reading most any time they can.
